“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
Thank you for joining us this October as we unite in prayer.
God desires for each of us to have our own Significant Prayer Life with Him. That is our time to connect, to listen, and to share our heart with our Lord and Savior. It is imperative that in our relationship with Jesus, we set aside time to connect directly with him. We hope this email will help guide you today.
This week, we are focusing on praying for our cities. No matter if the city is your home, or if it’s temporary, God planted you there for this time and wants you to pray. Even during their time in Babylon, God directed Israel to pray.
“Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.” (Jeremiah 29:7).
While we must pray for the cities of Israel today under brutal attack, let us each also lift up our own cities to our Lord.
As you call out the name of your city to Him, pray for:
- The leaders within our city, including our government officials.
- Those in your community who don’t know Jesus to be saved.
- Unity within churches.
- Schools and families.
- For those hurting and in need. Pray also that God would open our eyes to how we can help those less fortunate.
“You care for the land and water it; you enrich it abundantly. The streams of God are filled with water to provide the people with grain, for so you have ordained it. You drench its furrows and level its ridges; you soften it with showers and bless its crops. You crown the year with your bounty and your carts overflow with abundance.” Psalm 65:9-11
Dear Father,
Today we lift up our city ________________________. We thank you for where you have planted us and pray that you might use us within this community for your glory. Lord, we lift up the mayor, city leaders, staff, and city council and ask that you would give them wisdom as they lead. We pray for those who may not know you, that they might hear your Word and that your message would penetrate their hearts. We pray for our churches and that there would be unity within the bodies. We lift up the schools in our city and the families. Bless them and continue to draw them near to you. We pray for those in need around us. Open our eyes to how we can love and serve them today. We pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Let us unite as one across this country in prayer this week. Prayer changes lives and it changes cities.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” -1 Chronicles 7:14
Have a blessed week,
Pastor Jim and Tamara
