“If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”
– Matthew 18:19-20
Thank you for joining us this October as we unite in prayer.
God desires for each of us to have our own Significant Prayer Life with Him. That is our time to connect, to listen, and to share our heart with our Lord and Savior. It is imperative that in our relationship with Jesus, we set aside time to connect directly with him. We hope this email will help guide you today.
This week, we are focusing on praying for our next generation – our students, youth, and children.
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” – Proverbs 22:6
We are all tasked with discipling and guiding our youth, whether we have young children in our home or not. Within our church body, we practice intergenerational discipleship and pray you will consider doing the same, no matter in what stage of life you find yourself.
For those of us with children at home, we know it takes a village to raise them and we cherish every prayer lifted up on their behalf. Let’s come together and lift this next generation up. We encourage you to pray for those within your circle of influence and for those that will carry on the commandment of sharing Jesus long after we are gone.
“Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever!” – Deuteronomy 5:29
Through social media and shifts in culture, our children and youth are confronted with a multitude of issues, many that transcend beyond their years.
Let us ask God to restore their hearts and minds. Pray that our next generation would be provided with God’s wisdom and not that of this world. Pray that our students make wise choices, seeing all things through a Christian worldview.
We all are aware of teens that have lost hope, students contemplating an end to life, or children who turned their back on what they have been taught. Let’s ask God to work in hearts, revealing hope, and restoring relationships with Jesus.
Dear Father,
Today we lift up our next generation. We pray for those who have turned their backs on you, that you would open their hearts to you once again, and place someone in their lives to help lead the way if it is your will. Lord, we pray for those who “feel” no hope, and no future for their lives. Father, intervene right now in this next generation. May their hearts be moved to see the hope that is found in you, and you alone. Raise up leaders, provide your wisdom to our students, purify them from the things of this world. God will you protect our children and guard them from the evil one. Continue to strengthen those working on the frontlines with our youth and children in homes, churches, and schools across our country. We pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
We hope you will take this guide and pray for names specifically of youth who are questioning their faith, or have lost hope. Pray as well by name for the youth leaders and parents as they minister to them.
Let us unite as one across this country in prayer this week.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” -1 Chronicles 7:14
Have a blessed week,
Pastor Jim and Tamara
